- This tutorial will show you the quickest way to make a mini fun book. First we are going to need 7 photos. Most people have all their photos stored in their iPhoto library, this makes it easy to load a whole bunch. Simply select "Photos" from under "iPhoto" in the sidebar.
- If you don't have iPhoto you will need to navigate to a folder that contains images. Choose 7 of the images and highlight them, hold down the command key (has an apple symbol on some keyboards) when you click on the images, this will stop it from reseting the selection. Once the images are selected, click the "Print & Layouts" button in the toolbar.
- It may take a few moments to open all images into the "Print & Layouts" interface, upon completion the interface will slide across to reveal the "Print & Layouts" interface.
- At the bottom of the window there is the "Layout" selector, its a wide silver bar with big icons in it.
- Underneath the "Layout" selector is a scroll bar, use this bar to scroll the "Layout" selector until "Mini Fun Book" icon is visible. When you can see it, click it to reveal the layout.
- Now the layout is visible, you can a preview of where the images will be placed. You can change their placement by simply clicking on one and dragging it to either an empty space or another box. If drop the image onto an existing image, they will trade places. You can also nudge an image by clicking on it, then pressing the arrow keys to move it in that direction.
- If you click on the text, you are able to edit it using the EditField at the top of the window, underneath the toolbar. Once you are happy with the placement and the text, click on the "Print" toolbar button to print the Mini Fun Book.
- Now on the non-computer related bit, it will require a pair of scissors or a sharp knife. Start by folding the page in half, then half again and finally half again.
- Turn the page over and then either cut or score down the center lengthways of the page. Start from the first cross folding to the last one. The blue line in the image below illustrates where the cut should be made.
- Turn the page back so that the images are facing upwards. As you fold the page in half like before, bring it inwards, you will need to help to make the sides pop out. Once they do, it should look like a cross from above.
- If you keep pushing it should all meet, then fold it round so the front becomes the front of the Fun Book and back becomes the back of the Fun Book. Congratulations your first Mini Fun Book.
