Launching / Opening an Item

Launch Item

The easiest way to launch an item is to simply click on its icon in the Overflow window. Overflow will open the application, document, or folder and fade out of view. To prevent Overflow from disappearing, hold down the Option key while you click. To reveal the item in the Finder, hold down the command key while you click.

Items can also be launched using the keyboard. Use the tab or arrow keys to highlight the item you want, then press return, space, or command-O. Another way to select an item using the keyboard is to type the first few letters of its name.

To open a document using an application stored in Overflow, start dragging the item from the Finder, press the hot key to bring up the Overflow window, then drop the document on the application in Overflow.
