Setting up pearCalc |
To be able to use pearCalc as calculator there is no setup needed. Just launch pearCalc and start calculating. You don't even have to install it in a particular place.
However, to be able to use the pearCalc service in all service enabled applications you have to copy pearCalc into your application folder. The pearCalc service will be available via the services menu upon your next login.
pearCalc provides a broad range of settings. You can specify if you want pearCalc to be able to launch applications, how precise pearCalc should calculate, what global activation key should be used and much more. Just type in "prefs" or select Preferences from the pearCalc menu to show the preferences pane.
You can define your own shortcuts (or constants) and manage an auto completion list to save you some time. Just click on the appropriate tab in the preferences pane and make your changes.
How to get rid of pearCalc
Though very unlikely at one point in time you might decide that you don't want to use pearCalc anymore. Well, all you have to do to get rid of pearCalc is to move the pearCalc icon into trash. pearCalc also creates a file in the user-preferences folder called 'com.pearworks.pearCalc.plist'. You might want to delete this as well.
